Upcoming Events

This will be a chance for our Director, Morgan Brown Sanborn, to get to know the kids and think about casting prior to auditions. It will also be a chance for students to spend some time preparing for the auditions, getting to know specific roles, working on bits of choreography, and talking about how to have the most successful audition. I hope many of you will join us for this opportunity. Please keep in mind that casting decisions will not be made until after the Nutcracker Auditions have been held on September 12th.

Even if you are not a current student of SSBT, but would like to participate in our Nutcracker performance, we welcome you to attend as a Community Dancer.

This is a two day event. Monday, August 24th and Wednesday, August 26th. While dancers are encouraged to attend both days, we understand scheduling may not allow that. When purchasing tickets, please make sure to purchase the dates you will be attending.

Levels 6A, 6B, and Pre-Pro: 10:00 - 3:00pm

Levels 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A&B : 11:00 - 2:00pm

Levels 1A, 1B, Primary B: 10:00 - 11:100am

Classical Ballet Program Dancers: 11:00 - 2:00pm

Community Dancers: 11:00 - 2:00pm

If you missed the June audition, or would like to reaudition to be a part of our competitive group please register to attend our August audition on August 25th from 3-5:30pm. Auditions are for classical and contemporary ensembles, solos, and touring ensemble. Dancers levels 2A and higher are welcome to audition. There is a $25 registration fee.

Dancers in levels 3B and higher who would like to audition for Clara should attend this audition. Only dancers present at audition will be considered. Dancers in levels 6B and PrePro who would like to audition for Dew Drop and Sugar Plum must attend this audition.

You are invited to a morning of dance, fun, and discovery at SSBT's August Open House! Join us Wednesday, August 26th from 9:30 - 12:00pm at South Shore Ballet Theatre. Explore the studios, meet our new Director, and jump into a free trial class! Kids ages 3 -7 can take part in sample classes, and everyone- yes, adults too are welcome to attend and learn about our programs. Experience our talented faculty and catch our students in action as they prepare for our annual Nutcracker production.

Dancers who are not registered students of SSBT but who would like to participate in our annual production of The Nutcracker should attend this audition.

We also recommend attending out Nutcracker Bootcamp which takes place on August 24th and 26th from 11-2pm. There dancers will learn choreography used in this audition.

All SSBT dancers will need to audition on this day to be cast in our Nutcracker production. While all Intensive Ballet Program and Pre-Professional Program dancers are expected to audition/ perform, dancers in the Classical Ballet Program have the option. We would love for the Classical Ballet Program dancers to perform with us!

Reserve your spot for just $125 and get a headshot plus two dance shots—perfect for competition or summer intensive applications or memories. Want more? Extra poses are $35 each. Spaces are limited and fill up fast, but if we reach capacity, we’ll add another day. Don’t miss out!
